After seeing mention of them in the news, she tells me about once seeing the caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found, although they didn’t get up close, they just saw them from afar.
She also says that 80 isn’t just a big birthday in terms of a nice big round number, she’s also glad to have just made it this far, and she says that when my great-grandmother turned 80 I wasn’t quite born yet but she traveled downstate to be with her, and they brought her a cake to her house, probably store-bought.
