Delayed addendum.

A bit ago at the (Thai) restaurant where I work now, there was that group of 4 women where the one probably had early-to-mid-stage dementia.

I forgot, after they helped her make sure that she had the right amount of money and she was handing it to me, they were like, "And don't forget the tip," and she looked at them with this big open look on her face and was like, "But that's separate, right?".

And later when I returned to their table after they had all gone, by where she had sat there was like a dollar bill, and all of this change on top of it that probably made up something like fifteen percent, but in shape it was like nothing that an adult would leave, but instead maybe like a middle schooler going out to a restaurant all by themselves for the first time.
