2 observations about smells:

1) My one (half British) (half Sudanese) friend (the sister of the pair), upon entering a 7-11, as an aside almost to herself:

"All 7-11s smell the same."

2) My library supervisor, upon returning from his vacation in New Orleans:

"Bourbon Street smelled exactly like I expected."
