My favorite reaction of a (seemingly autistic) (college-age) customer --
Me (stopping by as I run around the busy restaurant, holding out pitcher): "Do you need some more water, now?".
Them (putting a hand over their glass): "No."
[fifteen minutes go by]
Them (calling me over): "I need more water now."
