My fermented carrots weren't a hit with my one (Tibetan) coworker.

So, the other week at the resthome on a Monday, I finally brought in some fermented carrots for my one (Tibetan) coworker with an inappropriate sense of humor and all of the other people who were working, since there's usually this big group of people who work on a Monday who bring in food and share it with one another.

Only, none of the other people were there.

And, my one (Tibetan) coworker with the inappropriate sense of humor didn't even try any, since she said she had had some carrots earlier, and if she had more, "my eyes will explode."

Printing I misread on a bag the other day on the subway:

HELPS IMPROVE CUM HEALTH IN 4 WEEKS

. . .

(It was actually "gum," but the capital "G" in the printing didn't have much of a stroke to distinguish it from a capital "C," on first glance.)

Fermented carrots, to a (Tibetan).

To bring in to share with coworkers some Monday, I'm making up some fermented carrots.

I had to explain what fermentation was to my one (Tibetan) coworker with an inappropriate sense of humor, and since she didn't know what that was at first, she had to talk with our one (broadly-built) (Tibetan) coworker who was there in Tibetan for a few phrases to confirm what it was, and then she was like, "Okay, I know now, it is like daikon, we can make daikon like that."

After that, she's been asking me when I'm bringing "daikon" in, that's the word she seems to be effectively using for any fermented root vegetable.

The napping experience of the one resthome resident who is ready to die.

The other week at the resthome, I popped in to check on the one resident who's just ready to die, and she told me that she had been sleeping all afternoon.

"But I probably didn't miss much," she was like.

Talking with a (Bulgarian) about Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.

The other week at the resthome, I was talking with a(n older) (female) (Bulgarian) private aide about national politics, which it turns out that she follows pretty closely.

We were talking the Bernie Sanders campaign, since she voted for him last time and is supporting him again this time around.

When I started talking about Bernie and then Joe Biden a lot, then, I noticed that she was wagging her head side-to-side, only it was weird, since it wasn't that she was disagreeing with what I was saying, and actually she was agreeing with it.

Then, I remembered that Bulgaria is like the one big country where the waving-your-head-side-to-side gesture that commonly means "no" in most places, actually means "yes," and it all made sense.

It was very weird to see when I was talking, though, since the course of our conversation and her facial expression showed agreement, but I was processing her headshaking at first as "no" and the two different signals that I was perceiving was very weird to see all at once.

Comment at a job training, on forbidden activities.

The other week I took a (paid) voluntary training for my one job where I go help my one client with disabilities.

At the training, the (middle-aged) (black) (female) instructor reminded us that getting clients sex, cigarettes, and alcohol was forbidden on the clock.

"Like what would happen if someone had an oxygen tank, and you got them cigarettes?", she was like.

"They would blow up," said one (later middle-aged) (black) (female) who was taking the class.

Reading regimen.

I'm slowly starting to get back into a reading regimen, and I'm surprised how much I can read after work when I get out of the resthome.

A lot of nights a really dense academic book like the sociology of knowledge is too much for me, but a lighter "kind of primary kind of secondary" book can really hold my attention, for even like two to three hours before I get to bed.

In a little while once I close off some backward-looking obligations, I"m going to have to be more regimented with reading and writing time, so I get so many hours in a week and really use the time on my days and afternoons off.
