...at the one (Thai) restaurant where I work now:
1) The (tall) (new) (geeky) (Thai) cook accidentally lets a piece of meat into the vegetable soup of a (South Asian from South Asia) family -- the father is very understanding when I go table-side and am incredibly apologetic, and he says that it doesn't matter since they didn't intend to eat it -- and it reminds me of an incident where a piece of chicken got into a shrimp soup several weeks earlier, neither of which incidents I'd ever seen the likes of before in my several years working there, and so I tell the owners, nicely, that something might be happening with the way that the pots are being used and ingredients are being prepared, in the new cook's system.
2) After not wearing their glasses to look at the menu and ordering a pad kee mao with vegetables, a customer complains to a coworker, asking why there isn't any tofu in it (??).
3) When my one (tall) (young) (Latino-American) coworker finally says that he can't indeed make it to the upcoming ticketed circus event that I had invited him to and that he had really wanted to go to, he seems bummed, and so I tell him that he'll be sorry, when he sees Instagram pics of me and our one (chubby) (Thai) coworker doing body shots off a clown.
4) A(n adorable) (South Asian from South Asia) mom who is in town for the local university's mother event is there with her (Americanized) son and two of his friends, and when I go to the table to take orders, she asks him if it's okay what she's getting, and I tell her that it shouldn't matter this weekend, this weekend is about her and what she wants and celebrating her, and she says yes, she knows, but he doesn't know how to cook, and she wants to make sure that he likes the leftovers so she can send him home with them.
